Welcome to PointsZero

What this blog is about: travel, food, aviation, and the points-and-miles game that funds it all.

Most points writing is about extraction. Which card to open. Which transfer bonus to chase. Which redemption gets you the biggest spreadsheet number. Useful, sometimes. Spiritually dead, almost always.

What interests me is not the arbitrage itself but what it buys: a better seat, a better hotel, a better croissant, a city I would have skipped if I were paying cash and thinking small. The points are a machine for widening the range of possible experience. The experience is the point.

PointsZero is where I write about that range in practice. Sometimes that means premium cabins worth the trouble. Sometimes it means a personal map of the programs I actually trust. Sometimes it means Fukuoka, Kauai, or the best croissant in New York, because standards travel from category to category more easily than most people admit.

What you'll find here

Aviation — Not avgeek content for its own sake. Cabin design, routing, and the strange status theater of premium travel.

Food — Restaurants, bakeries, and the small daily luxuries that tell you whether a city has taste or just marketing.

Travel — Trip reports written after I've had enough distance to know what actually mattered. Not "ten things to do." More like what a place felt like, and whether it improved under attention.

The meta game — Points, miles, hotel programs, and the logistics that make the rest possible.

If you want comprehensiveness, there are better sites. If you want a point of view, this one is mine.
